The first four elements of\u00a0 UX-Experience Signal<\/h3><p>First let&#8217;s just list the first four elements Google has started to use to measure good user experience (sometimes called the &#8216;XU-experience Signal&#8217;):<\/p><p>The \u2018page experience\u2019 signal has been using the following signals for a few months now:<\/p><ul><li>Mobile-friendliness (good &#8216;responsive&#8217; pages that appear well on a mobile smartphone and tablet)<\/li><li>Safe-browsing (The page doesn&#8217;t contain any misleading content or malicious software).<\/li><li>HTTPS-security (SSL certification denoted by the padlock you see on your browser beside the URL of the website you are viewing).<\/li><li>Intrusive interstitial guidelines (pop-ups that do not provide any new content that you cannot already see on a page).<\/li><\/ul><h5>AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages)<\/h5><p>Before we move on to look at the latest three Core Web Vitals it should be noted that Google announced that to encourage mobile browsing it would also prioritize AMP content. AMP stands for Accelerated Mobile Pages. A stripped down version of webpages that allow fast mobile browsing.\u00a0<\/p><p>Specifically, Google announced that for non-AMP content to become eligible to appear in the mobile Top Stories feature in it&#8217;s Search Engine its new algorithm would out in May 2021. The Three Google Core Web Vitals<\/h3><p>Googles \u2018Core\u2019 Web Vitals were first introduced in 2020 and are designed to measure how users experience three main things: the speed, responsiveness, and visual stability of a page.<\/p><p>Specifically, these are defined by Google as the three main \u2018Core Web Vitals\u2019 at this time:<\/p><ul><li>Largest Contentful Paint (LCP)<\/li><li>First Input Delay (FID)<\/li><li>Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)<\/li><\/ul><p>Towards the end of 2020 Google announced that these three signals would be part of a big roll-out in May 2021 of their algorithm and encouraged website developers to modify their websites accordingly.<\/p><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-4384 size-full aligncenter\" style=\"letter-spacing: 0.36px;\" src=\"https:\/\/simplyit.co.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/3-Core-Vitals.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1600\" height=\"463\" srcset=\"https:\/\/simplyit.co.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/3-Core-Vitals.jpg 1600w, https:\/\/simplyit.co.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/3-Core-Vitals-300x87.jpg 300w, https:\/\/simplyit.co.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/3-Core-Vitals-1024x296.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/simplyit.co.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/3-Core-Vitals-768x222.jpg 768w, https:\/\/simplyit.co.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/3-Core-Vitals-260x75.jpg 260w, https:\/\/simplyit.co.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/3-Core-Vitals-1536x444.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/simplyit.co.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/3-Core-Vitals-18x5.jpg 18w, https:\/\/simplyit.co.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/3-Core-Vitals-290x84.jpg 290w, https:\/\/simplyit.co.tz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/3-Core-Vitals-600x174.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px\" \/><\/p><h4>Largest Contentful Paint (LCP):<\/h4><p>The time it takes for a page\u2019s main content to load. An ideal LCP measurement is 2.5 seconds or faster.<\/p><h4>First Input Delay (FID):<\/h4><p>The time it takes for a page to become interactive. An ideal measurement is less than 100 ms.<\/p><h4>Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS):<\/h4><p>The amount of unexpected layout \u2018shift\u2019 of visual page content. This is what you see when elements of the page are updated and other elements (eg text) are shifted to make space for the new element, particularly when a page loads.
